"I called McCrea after getting an estimate from Michael and sons on an AC repair. I did not share with the technician, Chris, the diagnosis from the previous company. The tech was on time, called 30 minutes before arriving and went straight to work. He asked a few questions about the unit, the problem history, etc and diagnosed the problem. He indicated I needed a new blower and the part needed to be ordered. He returned a couple of days later, installed the part, and made sure it worked properly. He was professional and very knowledgable about the system. The price I paid with McCrea was $1500 LESS than the price quoted by the other vendor. The difference is Chris accurately diagnosed the problem and did not try to scare me into buying another unit that I did not need.

"I wanted to drop you a note and say thanks for the high level of customer service you provided recently. On August 15th, my family contacted McCrea when the air conditioning in my relatives' townhouse in Montgomery Village, MD went out. This was a unique circumstance as my Uncle was in the final stages of hospice and bed bound and the McCrea folks quickly understood the gravity of the situation. Despite this being the busiest time of the year, a technician arrived the afternoon of the 15th and went to work trying to get cool air restored to the house. He suspected a problem with a valve at a minimum and though I think he knew the problem was likely larger he tried to get a short-term solution and by that night it had cooled a bit but he told us to call in the morning if we saw more ice on the coil as that would mean there was a larger issue. Sure enough, there was ice on the coil by the next morning and McCrea staff then arranged for a floor unit air conditioner to be brought to the home from Pennsylvania and got it installed by midday of the 16th. They then went about getting the new air conditioner installed by the next day.
The epilogue to this is that my Uncle died August 20th but in the final week of his life the extra level of work you all did made a tough situation bearable. I wanted to thank you for your attention to our situation that week. Everyone, from the dispatcher to the various technicians that attended to the situation all did great work and understood that this was no ordinary service call. On behalf of our entire family, we thank you."
